Bio

Words cannot describe how excited I am to have the opportunity to serve at PJHS! The reputation of this school speaks for itself!  I am enjoying seeing some familiar faces; seventh grade students were second graders my first year at PPS.  The most asked question has been, "how is it different?" After many hours of observation and research my answer is, "the kids are taller!"

I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible!  It takes teamwork for your student to be successful in this great endeavor. I am excited to be part of the team of awesome teachers, parents, and students at Prattville Junior High School!  GO CATS!

On A Personal Note

I am a product of the Autauga County School System and am honored each day to be a part of such a great system. I completed my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Georgia; my master’s degree is from the University of Montevallo in Instructional Leadership.

My teaching career began at Billingsley School; I worked there for from 1997-2012. While there, I taught second grade, fifth grade, sixth grade, K-8 Special Education, and was a reading coach. I had the opportunity to work with some great teachers and teach some awesome students! From 2012-2017 I was an Assistant Principal at Prattville Primary School. I was constantly amazed, at the hard work and dedication of those teachers. They are creative and deliberate in their daily instruction to provide engaging activities that lay the critical foundation of a lifelong education. I came to PJHS in the spring of 2017; I never get tired of watching the magic happen each and every day.

I am married to Greg Skinner and we have two awesome kids. Jordyn-Elisabeth is a Special Education teacher and Jacob works for Stone Martin Builders. My family jokes that school is my hobby, but I also enjoy reading, the beach, and spending time with family and friends.
